TCFV is excited to announce we are hosting a series of Privacy Day Trainings with our traditional Regional Membership Meetings around the state! Join us as we bring together constituents from Region 9 for a full day of training on March 26th in Austin, TX from 10 am - 4 pm. This annual meeting is a time for us to network and spend the day increasing our skills as TCFV provides a full day of training on vital issues. 

This training is geared specifically towards Family Violence Program Staff and admission will be reserved for family violence program staff only. Should you work in an alternate setting and want training on this issue TCFV is happy to work with you to offer this. Please email dataTX@tcfv.org with these requests. 


Topic
In light of the recent passage of HB 3649, the Victim Information Privacy (VIP) Act which created a new Victim-Advocate Privilege. Each privacy day will start with a foundational training on the new privilege law as well as additional training on other key privacy issues that intersect with this new privilege including:

  • Executing releases of information
  • Discussing privilege and confidentiality with survivors
  • Documentation Considerations
